Activity level acknowledgement
To fully enjoy this experience, all travelers must be in good physical health, be able to enjoy walking unassisted for an extended period of time without resting, be sure-footed on uneven surfaces, and walk up and down multiple flights of stairs and inclines easily and without assistance. By registering for this tour, travelers acknowledge that the tour will include the following:
Boat ride: Travelers should be comfortable entering and exiting a small, moored boat and cruising at a moderate speed
Matera: Travelers should be aware that the town of Matera is literally carved into the side of a hill, and our unique cave hotel may require ascending one to three flights of stairs to access your room. All checked luggage will be taken by porters directly to your room.
Cave accommodations in Matera: The beautiful cave rooms at our hotel in Matera have been minimally altered to maintain their unique characteristics. Because of this, these rooms may contain uneven floors or stairs, low-lighting, minimal windows, and partially open bathroom plans.
